Meister, in case you were wondering, I have a black calf wing tip version of this same monk...and its the most comfortable monk I own. Its not aesthetically pleasing to your tastes...but IMO, these shoes rock

Not all double monks are ugly. I like Chapel from JL. Similarly not all Monks are ugly... but the shoes above would definitely qualify.

I just can't the picture of Frankenstein out of my mind whenever I look at that toe box. Different stroke for different folks.

But the rest of the shoe is beautiful.

not many people buy BMW motorcycles for their looks, but they're highly regarded. The quality of the leather, the finishing, the construction ( DH hand lasts, hand stitches welts) and the Austro-Hungarian styling are pretty awsm IMO. I likethe solid A-H construction and look as much as Corthay's Arca's elfin Frenchyness or the Englishness of the Dover .

I've just "discovered" these. Sort of a middle class man's John Lobb?

Anyone own Barker anniversary and have a comment on long term quality?

thank you

Cross posted from the Rock Your Socks thread. It's the day before a holiday weekend. People are already annoyed by the fact I wear ties to work. So some bright socks has them talking. I've heard "Those don't match" and "Only you would wear socks that color.

I just got these shoes as NOS. Not really a fan of tasseled loafers but I loved the color and the price was ridiculously cheap.

Johnston & Murphy - Made In The USA.

If anyone know s anything else about these shoes let me know.

My favorite Pebble Grain Wingtips. Again, not your "every day" grain, but this'll certainly keep you regular.

I have a pair in black colour. The leather is of very high quality. No break-in period at all. I only wore them once (for a few hours, to our company's Christmas party last year) so can't commend on the long term quality.

+100 These Oakhams look stunning. The only thing holding me back from G&G's, is my concern that the heel look super high. Could one of the experts chime in - as in, is there a huge difference in height from say, Grant's or Vale's?
