Where did I miss this sale?!? Further deets? ...and four fucking thousand nine hundred and eighty EUROS for shoes? Thats just insane. $15,000 US for a LOAFER?! [IMG]
There's a joke about this. Russian oligarch says to another Russian oligarch: "Where did you get that tie? I have the same one." The other boasts: "Paris. I paid 900 Euros for it." The first oligarch smirks and replies: "I paid 3000 and didn't even have to leave Moscow." [IMG]

It is a little bit different in the original interpretation, but this is also nice.

I had a wonderful surprise today. These are my favorite B&S purchase to date. They were worn only a few times before making it to me.

Could you write it down in Russian for me, please? Спасибо.

    Встречаются двое. Один другому говорит:
    - Смотри, галстук купил за 500 баксов!
    - Лох! За углом такие по 1000!

    Классический анекдот эпохи 90-х.

    Babelfish even better...

Two are encountered. One another it tells: - Look, necktie purchased for 500 Baxes! - Oleaster! Around the corner such on 1000!

People can say what they want about the prices, which I agree are nose bleed expensive, but JL Paris is the gold standard in bespoke men's footwear. I can't think of a maker that is even close except ex-JL Paris artisans. Many of the well-known english makers could learn a thing or two from looking at these pictures - the elegance of nearly every shoe is profound.

Agreed. That JL bespoke tan monk strap is sick. Just sick. One of the better shoes I can recall seeing in a long time. Although I do still love my EG Oundles in Edwardian for 15% of the price! :^) [IMG]

Au contraire, the reason I like the tan monkstrap so much is that it has an English look to it and the finish is very similar to a certain tan Cambridge F&B I have lusted over for a long time. No doubt though JL Paris bespoke is tip top.
