i dont like the the EG finishes the HaF, looks weird - prefer the double or single

wow, your eyes are sharper than mine [IMG]

just realized the double row stitching of the heel counter. that's even worse, quasi.

    new spec's!

Not G&G. Waist doesn't look beveled enough.

not beveled or notched, looks more like AS

This is the snarky nasty type of comment that brings SF undone. Unless the poster asked for an opinion - just STFU okay? The poster goes to some trouble to put up some good snaps of shoes for our edification and the best you can do is bag him and them...just STFU!

I disagree. I think we could use more brutal honesty here.

I'm sure both Moo & Monty knew it wasn't a personal jab at them and I know they know what type of shoe I fancy. There is a big difference between being snarky and offering one's honest opinion IMHO.

That is my vote as well. Looks great, either way.

I don't think it's any of the big names.

Honsetly, I've got no problem with brutal honesty. I figure, we've all got REAL lives & REAL responsibilities (work, families, health, etc), and as adults, nothing anyone types on a message board should bother us. Now, some people may well get upset by "harshly worded criticism", and simply not post. I think this is a loss for us all, since being exposed to the diversity of opinions and styles is the best way to form our own personal opinions and styles.

Besides, I think it's more convenient to "march to your own beat". My own taste leads me to purchase some wonderful items (top quality construction / craftsmanship, top quality materials, great condition) at often times 10% of retail (or less). If you have a love of Alden (for example), get used to,

"These retail for $600. I "only" wore them 5-6 times, so as a HUGE bargain, you can get them for ONLY $575."

REMEMBER, the forum is for FUN, first & foremost.

Very Nice! I'm a big fan of the u-throat. Gives a whole different feel than the traditional wingtip.

This is a u-throat. The throat is the area around the laces. I don't know what the shoe above would be called...a peakless wingtip, maybe?
