There isn't really a crease there; it just a slight curve that caught the light.

It probably is made more apparent by the light; yet I still think that this crease/deformation (whatever you want to call it) shouldn't be there if the shoe fit well.

I'm a big EG fan and even with their superb leather there is a lot of creasing because their shoes are made so 'snug' fitting. However, I always though that the creasing is what gave the shoe its character and made it unique to the wearer as well as breaking in the shoe properly. You're never going to stop it from creasing!!!

[IMG] Aquascutum suede chukka boots. Should be nice in the spring and summer.

These might send some to sleep or repel others, but I finally got a decent Dainite sole black shoe:

Ebayed NIB for a very reasonable price. My commute involves walking 4 miles a day on a mixture of tarmac, unmade roads and gravel paths - not so bad when it's dry, but in wet weather it can eat leather, and these will do when I want to spare the EG chelseas with a suit, but are casual enough for a sportscoat.

    My new aquisition:

First shoe by a French maker.

Personally I am kind of impressed by the shoes, at least for the price I was paying. I wouldn't have expected the channeled soles, as the pics on the website indicate that they usually have not...

Not sure about the leather quality though. My untrained eye can't spot any differences to my other shoes, but we will see.

I'm surprised by the lack of comments on these. These are very cool shoes!

I like those. Aquascutum sells the most random shit sometimes.

Nice. I need to get a few Dainite for crappy weather. Thinking EG Shannon and Chelsea. Buying lotto tickets.

Makes a nice change from other chukkas - looks good with jeans.

I've got the Chelsea on leather soles - I'd have prefered the Canterbury on dainite to the Cardiff, but I wasn't going to say NIB to these for the price of a pair of Loakes, maybe I'll strike lucky again and find the Canterbury in brown [IMG]

    Thanks. [IMG]

I am quite happy for the price. These aren't high end shoes at all, but I like the aesthetic which I would find elsewere too, but at a much higher price point.
