Painter's tape or some other type?

Yeah, mine says masking tape, but I think they're the same. I also use tape when I want to apply edge dressing.

Not stupid at all. It is very very difficult-akin to polishing a spectator shoe. Use painters tape or masking tape, go slow-take your time.

Only use 'low-tack' tape.
With a firmly sticking tape, you rip off the wax-polish.

Give yourself plenty of room and take your time. I've been doing this a very long time and have never screwed up a pair. Never did use any kind of tape.

Has anyone ever sent a pair of shoes back to Church's for resoling?

I just ordered the quarter-brogue's in the bottom right corner - can't wait for them to arrive!

Congrats on purchase. Where did you buy and how much did they set you back? Love the suede boots.

Those carmina are from thearmoury.com. Look at the top of this page for its affiliate thread. Their customer service is phenomenal.

My newest damage. Just arrived this morning. Courtesy of Will at ASW.
