What do you make of the quality of the dark brown grain. Comparable to Crockett & Jones, if you are familiar with the make? Cheaney are quite a bit less, but they look pretty good.
I'd nave to say the last and look (colour and punching) on these is nicer than my BB C&Js....

Welcome to the FS029 club! Wear them in good health.

rabiesinfrance asked about the quality of the leather. I think it's similar to boots I have by C&J and Trickers. Mine are wearing well - I'm really happy with them.

Absolutely agree, have three pair of Trickers boots and these are up there in comparison, mine seem to be wearing well and polish up lovely.

Only had them a day but the quality seems spot on. Looking forward to wearing them in. Incidentally they're on Cheaney's 175 last for anyone interested.

Here is some pron and some thanks to StyleForum for guiding me over the past year. And without further ado... Let's start with a little bit of Pre SF shoe damage: [IMG] Next, we got some Chukkas from Ron Rider: [IMG] Next, Allen Edmonds Strand in Walnut and Fifth Avenue in Dark Brown: [IMG] Next a little bit of C&J: [IMG] [IMG] Followed by some Sloops from ASW: [IMG] [IMG] And finally, some G&Gs! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] I hope you enjoyed some of the members of my collection! I have a few more, but they are currently being taken care of! Not too shabby for a 22 year old [IMG] All of them have been worn about a dozen times or so, and have been VERY well taken care of (in case that is not evident [IMG] )

Those ASW Sloops look good. Will be interested in your thoughts after you've worn them for a bit...

    Is that the G&G Grant?

Yep, that is the G&G Grants on the TG73. I actually went up in width, and down half a size, and I find them must less pointy! They actually fit almost the exact same as the C&J 348 last for me.

    Looking good newcomer, congrats!

Thanks Bris--I have a few more things on the way to keep the collection update. I never should have gotten into the shoe game!

Aaron--I have worn them a few times, and I have to say that I love them so far. I wear most of my shoes very lightly (i.e. to class), so most of my shoes do not get overly creased. But I have found them incredibly comfortable and very sleek. I wear them with anything from shorts to a office pants. The leather also has a really interesting finish.

What size do you wear in G&G compared with C&J's 348?

I wear a 9E in C&J and a 9F or 9.5E in G&G. I prefer the feel of the 9F to be honest, and I feel the increased width combined with the decreased length bring the shoes a little further into balance. Edwards of Manchester has a pretty good deal going on with them. And thanks everybody else for the compliments--it has been quite a journey, albeit an expensive one!
