^ Nice Gaz. Was this on the way to Charvet? Looks like the Place Vendome.

Thanks to whoever ordered the pictured pair = epic fail...

i have to repudiate my statement due i thought the sticking plaster was hiding a norvegese, which imo would have been too much for this delicate leather and finishing.

though i dunno feel the u-tip at all [IMG]

These look very sleek for a derby. Does the heel shape have any value beyond the aesthetic?
it's for orthopedic reasons. very common in the austro-hungarian bespoke tradition...
That's what's known as a Thomas heel. It is supposed to prevent pronation--walking the shoe to the inside (medial side). It doesn't always have that severe a "corner" on the lateral side. That seems a bit unstable to me but I could be wrong.
Yup, Thomas heel or Flügelabsatz is what they are called. Not really necessary when one has relatively healthy feet but nice to have and very elegant IMHO. I feel they provide a slight stabilising effect but this could be mere hallucination.

    Noice!!

    Not that it matters.

These are mostly Ugolini sample shoes exhibited at his workshop, I posted another photo of the larger rack in another thread I think: [IMG]
