i have mine(thrift find) sun bleached, similar to the foster thing.

with blue polish, they have a chocolate brown hue...

hahaha, but still BLACK why not a nice cognac or something

You got me, they are MTO but not specified by me. I was not in the right condition to be ordering MTO shoes when these were made, ~40-60 years ago. [IMG]

Most likely made by J&M for sale through private label shop.

Every time I see one of these, I keep thinking I need a pair. [IMG]

Pretty cool, although a black pebble grain captoe makes for an unusual combo. J Press used to sell something similar (plain cap though, no punching) made by Sanders if I'm not mistaken.

    don't expect too much [IMG]

it's an amateur job, but i liked the idea of diy.

here's a link before the sun treatment: http://www.styleforum.net/showpost.p...&postcount=354

Looking forward to seeing pics of the result as I was thinking of trying something like that, although it would likely involve acetone or other agents to strip some colour in certain areas and speed up the process.

Any idea of when J&M bought them out? These are a pretty high grade pair, well above the usual J&M stuff.

went a bit crazy and got two pairs of shoes that might be too similar...do you guys think these are different enough to warrant keeping both? Paul Smith Nash [IMG] John Lobb Brackley [IMG] the PS are dip-dyed black, the JL are black museum (kinda hard to see the mottling in the pic, but it's there)
