You saved the trouble of buying and returning. Never seen poor quality SM footwear.

    Thanks,

Quite a few Italian top makers are going into CG. Sad to see.

I was surprised as well, I thought that the pictures on Yoox looked like bookbinder, but figured that it was worth a shot given the past quality of SM. As Meister says, CG is becoming more common among high-quality shoe makers, and that's really sad. Certainly more circumspection regarding shoes on Yoox may be warranted.

That said, Yoox still remains a decent source for shoes, the Gruppo Clark fatte a mano Norvegese brogues and Grenson G1 suede brogues I picked up were absolute steals at roughly $130 each.

All depends on the shade: if very dark blue, they will look very much like black -- if very light, maybe they'll go with summer slacks.

Thanks! Any idea who made them? I've asked on a couple of other threads, but no one knows.

    Hello there,

Bought these beautiful Church split-toe derbies almost ten year ago. My first "proper" shoes. They were used and abused quite a lot over the course of years. Unfortunately I was too young and careless then to take care of these shoes.

Found them while rummaging through my storage room as they haven't see any use for the last two years. Unfortunately, I see some leather cracking going on, as you can see in the pic.

Do you think I can repair this damage? I have ordered SAPHIR Creme Universelle and SAPHIR Renovateur. Do you think these two products might be any effective?

Any feedback would be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

It's a little bit hard to tell from the photo, but it does seem like the leather has cracked near the welt. Once it cracks there's nothing you can really do to repair it.

    Thank you, Bamgrinus!

Any chance this damage might be hidden by SAPHIR Creme or wax polish?

I've stopped counting how many pairs have gone through my hands, but after so many, there's still room for alternative colour shades. Gotta get those highs somehow.

Here's made to order Vass schüs with F-last, burgundy suede, their newer double monk model, double-to-single tapered oak bark soles, brass buckles, undyed welt top and white stitching. The shade is very difficult to capture with my poor-ass camera, but I'd describe it as a dark red with plenty of brown in it. Ruddy in sunshine, browner indoors - the top-down picture shows it best.

    Hello there,

I'm just wondering if I can do anything about these Cordovan shoes... The creases (Rolls) are just way too obvious. I keep them on shoe trees but that hasn't made much of a difference...

Any feedback would be highly appreciated.

    Thanks!
