Alden bluchers on the Modified Last in Whiskey shell. Bought last summer, but getting their first wear today. [IMG] PSA: If you have a chance to get something in Whiskey shell, do so. It is a really beautiful color and the depth of color is very very nice.

How does the C&J 341 last compare to the 337? I tried the the Weymouths on the the 337 and found them to be too big and roomy. Is the 341 more narrow?

Yes, particularly towards the front. However, the 341 has a charm of its own. Maybe you can size down half a size on the 341?

That is exactly what I did. They are half a size smaller than I would usually wear but they fit beautifully.

I find the 341 a bit wider than the 337.

    C&J 337 (UK 6E) vs C&J 341 (UK 6E):

You like it, the Lobb? A bit surprised coming from a Trad loyalist like you, not the saddle part but the Lobb part.

Lobbs are much more to my taste than to my budget. I also love the suede Cavendish above.

I would argue that 1) 'Trad' is generally caricatured more than understood at SF, and 2) my Trad purity is usually exaggerated.

I consider Lobbs - the real Lobbs, not necessarily the style-of-the-month items that now bear the Lobb label - to be entirely traditional. Check out G. Bruce Boyer's 'Eminently Suitable' in which he boils our longing for tradition down to Lobb shoes and Mercedes wagons.
