Shoe Creasing Question

If I can feel the leather in the vamp touch the top of my toes (creasing) when I walk, is that a sign that the shoe is too big? The toe box is on the larger side, but not overly large for my foot.

I can feel the leather crease and, essentially, dig into my toes. It's not extremely uncomfortable, but when you feel it every step, it certainly becomes a nagging issue.

Am I doomed with these shoes because they're too large? Could I add heel cushions to try and get a tighter fit?

Need some SF advice from anyone who may have experienced something similiar.

I've had that problem with the last three pairs of boots I ordered. It went away after breaking in.

Shoe also do that when they're too small, I've found. The way to figure out if it's that is, when you flex your foot, feel to see if the front of your toes is touching the very front of the leather.
