Crazy what a hair dryer can do! This is my 10 year old, Italian made shoe from Aquila.

I saw Preston on Elegant Oxford mention that the factory finish on shoes can cause over creasing. It's possible you just melted that finish down to remove the crease.

It's a 10+ year old shoe that I neglected but it must be my beginners luck ?

The problem is that the first time you do it, it seems to work pretty well. A few times down the road, and you've pretty much ruined the leather.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
