Shoe crease causing pain = wrong last or wrong size?

It means you hvae the wrong crease. I have found that these misplaced creases tend to work themselves out. You can try giving the shoes a good application of conditioner to soften the leather and encourage them to find a nicer place to crease. Or you can, as some have tried here, try taping a quarter to your foot at the place of the crease.

My experience is also that they work themselves out. May take a while though.

You can put a patch of Dr Scholl's moleskin on your foot until the crease settles down.

I have a pair of EG's where the fit feels fine but the crease tends to gouge the knuckle of my big toe on my right foot over the course of the day. I will try the quarter!

I had a pair of shoes that would do that when I drove my truck, the action of pushing the clutch caused the crease to occur slightly further back than usual. Why it only happened on the one pair and no others, I'm not sure.

However, I did as above. I worked conditioner into the crease and put shoe trees in a tick tighter than usual to try to convince the crease out.

After it was basically gone, I worked the shoes with my hands to move the crease closer to the toe. Haven't had an issue since.

I have the same situation..

When I wear tricker's 9F, it's creasing at every right place, but a bit too long
but when i wear 8.5e, the length feels right, but the creasing is wrong, and the foot feels really painful

I guess it's more about the width and the last

My suede brogues have developed a horribly obvious crease on the outside (the color is much lighter) after not many wears. It doesn't hurt or anything. This has happened on other suede shoes too.

I have the same problem with a pair of cordovan shoes. The fit feels fine, but a mile of walking in them and my big toe knuckle is totally raw. I wear them a lot on days I don't have to walk much, but the whole thing is very annoying.

I have the same problem you are describing where the leather is pinching my toes when walking and bending the feet on one of my shoes. Will this go away or should i return the shoes? I really love them, they fit perfectly expect just this problem.
thanks for any advice

Nine year old thread.

It may go away with use but equally it may simply be the incorrect shoe for you. If you have worn them though, how can you return them? In that event wear them, hope, pray if you are of a mind that praying is more than mumbo jumbo to pass the time of day, and suck whatever outcome emerges.
