I wonder how much boot offering they will be focus on given it's in Singapore, maybe a few chelsea and chukka are most likely.

We shall see. Pretty much any on-line vendor these days is looking to sell to a global market - which is a smart approach, IMO. And those who undertake the effort and investment to become SF affiliate vendors are almost certainly looking to expand beyond the boundaries served by the local brick and mortar shop. My guess is they'd want to be in the conversation on SF and elsewhere when the topic emerges "What hand-welted boot should I buy?"

The Horween waxed flesh leather is not the ideal for split and lift but it turned out pretty good.

Keeping the line of sewing as far away from the edge of the heelseat as possible, and keep the counter free of pipes and wrinkles.

Those things are beautiful. Noob question, what does the ? on the saddle part of them mean?

Nothing really...I was momentarily uncertain whether it was a lefty or a righty. I'm old and slow. I was not prepared to figure that out that day so I just made a notation to myself figuring I could resolve the issue the next morning. It's a special ink and washes off with water.

lol...with your choice of profession, old and slow is a definite strength!

Odd question but this seemed like the right thread for it. I have been told, and I am sure it is true, that it is a bad idea to remove one shoe by using the toes of the other to step on the heel as you pull your foot out of it. Why exactly is that? Is it because you damage the heel counter or the upper leather at the heel?
More importantly, for you shoemakers, if i told you I was going to do that anyway, no matter what you said, could you design or make the shoe differently so my bad habit wouldn't be a problem? How would you do it? Can the design shape the object to the user rather than make the user behave to the needs of the object.

I see this as damaging the heel and maybe scratching it

Get one of these and it’ll be much easier for almost the same action, one foot on the back of the boot jack and pull the shoe off the other from the heel. Then you won’t scratch the leather or collapse the heel stiffener
