Shoe care products in Australia

So as I build up a collection of nice shoes my thought turn to caring for them. Especially as winter approaches in the southern hemisphere.

I've searched these, and other sites, for good shoe care products and the prevailing opinion seems to be that Saphir is a good choice. Meltonian also gets good reviews.

My question is; does anyone know if anyone sells it in Australia? Or if not, is there a good online vendor people would recommend?

www.afinepairofshoes.com has good prices, but very expensive shipping.

www.hangerproject.com is more expensive, and still with the costly shipping.

www.francis.com seem ok, but I've no idea if they ship internationally.

Any recommendations would be gratefully received.

And lastly, opinion seems to be that SnoSeal is bad for shoes, is there a better product that will help waterproof my seams for the coming winter?

Thanks very much.

Valmour seems to ship to Australia now. Does anyone have experience with them?

The A Suitable Wardrobe store ships Saphir to Australia almost every day, should you be interested. Only thing is you should plan to buy at least four items as we will only ship with a tracker and the minimum cost for this is $27. So it takes four or more items for the shipping to make sense.

Other than that, your order ships same day and everything on the store is in stock.

I have used Valmour in the past. They are very good and very friendly.

I would head over to the Australian Members thread and see if you can't organise a group buy.

I, too, have used Valmour and would recommend them without hesitation.

Shipping from France is a little pricey, so it's best to organise a group purchase if possible, so as to help spread shipping costs.

Significantly, Valmour decreases the unit cost of an item as you purchase more, so if you purchase ten tins of Saphir Medaille d'Or polish, each tin will cost a lot less than if you only purchased three tins - which is another reason to see if you can arrange a group buy.

I use Steven from Leffot for all my Saphir needs. I met him while I lived in NY, so he's happy to send stuff to Australia for me, but I know he has other Aussie clients too. Great guy and great shoes too.
