I really am interested in getting a pair of Nike Dunks. I really like how they look and they seem like they would be comfortable. The only thing is I don't see people with my particular aesthetic wearing them. I see the occasional Japanese guys at school wearing them, and then Black guys w/ baggy jeans wearing them.
Could a pale skinny white kid pull of dunks with slim jeans?

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic. If not, check out superfuture. Plenty of people there who love dunks.

i am not being sarcastic.

thanks for the headsup on superfuture.

I am unable to make a new thread, and found nothing on nike dunks when i searched.

I guess i'll try to glean some ideas from the WAYWN threads.

I've seen people wear the hi-top Dunks untied with the toungue hanging out when they're wearing really slim jeans, but you could probably wear them laced up with slim jeans, too.

I see this look a lot on Superfuture and some on SF. I think that if the jeans are too tight, you run the risk of looking unbalanced, cartoonish, or just plain douchy--especially with the tongue thing. I think cheapmutha has the look perfected, though, with the slimmer Japanese denim. Check out his posts on the WAYWN thread.

In terms of color, please God, just not white.

dunks are great shoes to wear with a t-shirt and jeans.
As far as different style there are two different "lines" of the shoe. One is the SB (skateboarding) which comes with a stuffed tongue and the other is the standard dunk without the stuffed tongue. SB's are definitely more sought after and limited. They can get very pricey too depending on the colorway and who nike collaborated with in designing the shoe. It's not a dressy shoe by any means, so I just wear mine on the weekends when I want to look really casual. Check Niketalk.com for some info.

the old fashion advice goes, if you arent sure, then you probably can't pull it off.

then again, common sense says, there is nothing to "pull off" with a look you find in Foot Locker.

So feel free to just go ahead and wear them, and not worry about how white you are.
