I have a friend who needs help finding clothes that fit, specifically shirts. She's 5'8" x 115 with a 30" "chest" (measured like a guy would) measurement and a long torso. I don't know if she's tried American Apparel but she needs t-shirts and other basic stuff. I know some of you have sources for good basic female clothes (low-average price range) so cough them up. Thanks.

American Apparel for women (American girl?) will fit her perfectly.  Their clothes and underwear are geared towards smaller busted, taller women.

Don't know what her spending limits are, but Three Dots will also work for her.

Aren't those porny AA ads enough to explain it all? At least give them a shot - AA is primarily a women's clothing company anyway. Dov is insane about getting the fit right on as many women's bodies as possible.

For tall girls on a budget I'll second AA. Now the question is why do we know which companies fit girls better?

Because the girls on the AA ads (and the pictures plastered all over their stores) are hot.

The one in the knee socks ad weighs as much as me. That's not that hot. The others are cute though.

Tell her to get her shirts altered to fit her body. Seriously. I do it for polos, no reason why girls shouldn't do the same with t-shirts.

She does that actually, but you can't make a shirt longer. She doesn't like having a wide swath of mid(low)riff showing. I told her about AA, we'll see how that works out.

i think we probably need to see pictures, to provide any more solid advice. if she's hot: lots of pictures. exactly how much midriff are we talking about? maybe just pictures of the midriff.

Hahaha... I was waiting for that. She's watching this thread so it's up to her I guess. Act non-creepy.

Dude, I would even convert to the Streetwear forum if we could get co-educational, 5'8" thin girls to model clothing, in lieu of the slightly pudgy 20-40 something guys in the main forum. I'm not helping am I?

I fifth the recommendation on AA. She might also want to consider buying the unisex/guys shirts since they are pretty slim fitting w/o being excessively short. FWIW, Im slim and long waisted, and love their mediums.
