Hello,
Recently, I had a funeral to attend and needed to buy a suit in just a few days. I tried to do some research into suit buying and came to a few conclusions: polyester is bad, canvassing is good if you can get it, and fit is more important than anything. Because I was short on time and money, I ended up just buying a wool suit from Jos. A Bank for a little over $100. While I was there, I ended up buying more stuff than I needed, including a Sport Jacket on sale for $70 and four dress shirts. However, now I am unsure of my decision and would like some advice on fit and style to see if I should return some of the stuff I bought.
The sport coat I didn't plan on buying, but I saw it on sale for $70 and I had been wanting a sport coat for a while so I impulse bought it. It is a 43R, and I would like some advice on the fit and possible tailoring.
The shirt is a 17/33. I wasn't able to try it on in store, but I already wore it to the funeral, so I can't return it. I could return the other three shirts though, which are 17/34 (I think the salesperson messed up here). The shirt is horribly bunched up in the back but I don't know if it's because I'm wearing it wrong or if it's simply too big. Would any of these shirts even look appropriate with the sport coat assuming I keep it?
The pants in this video I know are too big. I am looking for a new nicer pair of khakis that fit better.
I do not like modern slim fitting stuff. I am 6' 215 lbs and I prefer a looser, more traditional fit. I am a college junior studying engineering and would like to begin improving my wardrobe for interviews, weddings, or other occasions where I need to look nice. Thank you for the advice in advance.
