Depends on the maker of course, but most consistently 16-34/35. Some 15.5s fit me fine, some 16s are too tight, and after they go through a couple of wash cycles all bets are off.

If I'm buying it without the intention of wearing a tie, I'll go for a 15.5 because the body will be considerably smaller.

But then again, I have made a pact with myself not ever to buy another OTR shirt unless I try it on and it fits perfectly. It's not a good deal if it just hangs in the closet.

16 1/4
right sleeve 34 1/4
left sleeve 34

rtw it's 16 34/35, though like j, i've bought smaller neck sizes for a trimmer fit in the body.

For proper fit on body: 14 / 34
For proper fit on neck: 15.5 / 34

Kind of sucky to have to choose. Needless to say I am a fan of Jantzen.

It's going to be a sad day for me when Ricky Ho is no longer with us -- being in my early 20s, I'm guessing he'll be gone before me. Until then, I plan on wearing Jantzen for the rest of my life.

16 1/2 neck, 34 sleeve is closest, although it fits my neck, but is very billowy on my torso, and my right arm is 1/2 inch longer than my left, so even the sleeve length is not exactly right.

I get most of my dress shirts at WW Chan now for these fit reasons.

For casual shirts that I'm unlikely to wear with a tie, I usually go with a 15 1/2 neck; 34sleeve. Fits much better through the torso.

18-36 (for wearing without jacket)
18-37 (usually, for wearing under a jacket).

With the help of the sharp eyes on this board, I recently discovered my arms are not equal in length, so I'm a Jantzen guy too.

15.5/16-34/35

As most everyone else has said, it depends on the maker and the intention of how I will wear the shirt (tie or not).

I've never bought a custom shirt, so this is what I get off the rack.
