I've got some broad shoulders and wear a medium in button downs. My question is, im at a 163 lbs 5'9 I wanna get down to 150, will I have to get new shirts or since i have broad shoulders I can just get the shirt tailored so that the shoulder area of the shirt still fits right and have them tailor the mid section? I hope that's not too confusing.

If you're just losing 10 lbs, I don't think you'll need to do that much alteration to get the shirt right. Unless you're a real stickler for making things fit perfectly right.

maybe I'm just over thinking it haha i wore a friends size small and the shoulders just felt tight, I don't think I'll ever be a small cause of my shoulders

I have pretty wide shoulders too but my arms aren't that long, so a medium fits well but the sleeves are long sometimes. I often need to find a shirt that's medium in everything except maybe a small length in sleeves
