Shirt alternative to BB?

Good assortment of patterns and colors. Same or better than BB in quality. Around the same price would be nice. They should have an online store. Can anyone help out?

No, I'm not going to use the 'recommend me x' thread. Nobody ever answers there.

Harvie and Hudson without doubt. Nice fabrics, particularly the herringbones for my money. MOP buttons as well.

I've purchased a few of the John W. Nordstom dress shirts, and I've been quite pleased with them. They have some nice fabrics, and while I'm not sure if the buttons are MOP, they are certainly nicer and thicker than the BB buttons. Overall, much nicer shirts than BB. I keep telling myself that I'm going to try a Jantzen soon, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Jantzen? I'd rather have a Jantzen shirt that isn't perfect than the tents that BB sells

I recently went from BB and JAB regluar shirts to their 'slim fit' shirts and realized that I still have enough fabric left on the sides and upper arms to fit both of my kids in the shirt if they want to hide there.

My wife has agreed to help me get some accurate measurements and I'm going to start the process with Jantzen. From what I've read here, it's a two or three shirt ordering process to get all of your measurments dialed in, but even a first attempt at MTO is going to have to be better than the giant slim fit shirts I've been wearing from BB. And the MTO prices from Jantzen and the other place Shikar reviewed (Modern Tailor?) are about the same as getting the BB shirts on sale.

Let us know what you come up with and if whatever it is fits better than the BB stuff.

Thank you very much. Shipping from Hong Kong shouldn't be too bad for a few shirts, I don't suppose.

It's built into the prices shown. If interested I would search the forum for 'Jantzen' and do a little homework. Price is as stated, quality is very good (fabric can be a crapshoot) and service is a clusterf*ck. I still use them.

Instead of Jantzen, how about those mytailor.com people?

Their MTM shirts seem pretty cheap, but they visit a bunch of cities. If you develop a pattern than you like, you could move on to Thomas Mason fabrics from them.

I think that Will uses them, as well as Zbromer. You could PM them.

Mercer makes a fine approximation of an old school BB OCBD. Actually, it is probably closer in design to the original than the current product is.

I have a couple of mytailor shirts. I don't know if I'll use them again because I have access to local bespoke shirtmakers. But if you don't, they are worth considering.

My main complaint with the shirts I have is that the armholes are too large (no smaller than on RTW shirts). I'm sure this could be addressed if I ever order more.

Jantzen does not use SSL/TLS to protect your credit card information if you enter it on their order form..... I may avoid them due to this.

As vox mentioned, I am a mytailor.com customer. They offer a large selection of fabrics at different price ranges; although, I do recommend the Thomas Mason fabrics. It's one of the best values for custom shirts. They are better quality than Jantzen, have better customer service and a larger selection, and offer the ability to visit one of their traveling tailors. They have an extensive and non-stop travel schedule, so you should be able to meet them somewhere at some point. They aren't quite the same quality as most of the other entry level custom shirtmakers, but they are also probably less than half the price. Really no complaints at all, particularly after a few orders when they've dialed in your measurements.
