[Pre-search Directive 1102.6m compliant: 17:08 minutes of topic searching completed prior to initiation of new thread.]

I change residence several times each year and use palletized freight forwarding to transfer clothing and household effects for each move. I am hoping one of you can direct me to a resource for a packing case to ship my better suits. (Just to share the enthusiast element: I favor Oxxford myself.)

Conventional wardrobe boxes simply cannot withstand the abuse of palletized freight treatment: about 50% of the time, the carton arrives burst or collapsed in on itself.

What would be ideal would be a permanent, luggage-quallity case similar to the old steamer trunk of years ago: a rigid case that would permit the proper, secure hanging of 6 - 8 suits. (Doesn't matter how the thing looks.) As it is, I am considering having a case custom-bult by one of the companies that does "roadie" cases for band equipment, but hate to re-invent the wheel if there is already a purpose-designed item out there.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks, that link is a good start for my search.

(You are correct that clothing stores use cardboard, and that is what I have been making do with, but 1) they are not using palletized freight, and 2) the boxes are good for only a couple of uses.)
