I already have a great fall/spring jacket: Bonobos Banff quilted.
Instead of a whole new winter setup can I use the Banff as a mid-layer? What is the waterproof shell that completes the urban/european look (love Norse Projects). Should I look into something else?

I need it for Amsterdam winters: Lots of cold wind and rain

If you like the Norse Projects Thor then also check out Arc'teryx Veilance (pricier but very well made) and Nanamica.

I've seen similar quilted jackets paired with a heavy tweed jacket or a peacoat to create a nordic look. You'll however have to buy them large enough to fit properly over the Banff without feeling like a Michelin Man and will find this combination to be very warm (if you tend to transpire quickly, you may find this combo too warm in fact unless you have arctic temperatures).
