    I live in London and have to attend a few dinner parties and/or award functions. Which tuxedo is appropriate.

    There's an entire black tie thread that you should probably take the time to read, at least the most recent few pages. Your question has been debated over and over. And over again.

    Shawl or peak lapels, not notch unless you want people to assume your dinner jacket is rented. Which you choose is up to you, depending on the look you prefer. Peak is classic, shawl is also classic and, possibly, slightly more relaxed.

    You are correct. I must have been confused with my own fifty year old tux
    from Paul Stuart which is the epitome of Ivy League style- basically a one
    button version of a sack suit with satin lapels, and a vest.
