I love solid silk squares. Can't get enough of them, especially when they match the tie.

Jacket is wonderful (he would benefit tremendously from MTM or bespoke, seems to have shoulder issues).

Edit: and that might actually be a Kiton!

I think i've seen a kiton with that fabric.

I went to see Jesse Jackson speak in the Western Addition yesterday and, my, did he ever look terrible--like he had swapped clothes with Dan Burton or something (ill-fitting blue blazer, nondescript off-white shirt, big gut). I recently saw Gavin Newsom walking around with his cuff buttons undone. WLB would never descend to such depths; the turned back shirt cuff over the jacket is something from an entirely more advanced and confident league.

I too have noticed that Jesse is in need of a sartorial intervention. I don't know what is going on with Jesse Jackson's clothes. He's never put together.

    Gay Talese: an obvious choice.

Professionalism is paramount in a business designed to sell to families, and a decent outfit doesn't hurt to that end.

I was going to get to Larry Brown! Always well put together IMO. And I like his glasses.

I think we have to make the distinction between sharp and well-dressed. Now, being sharp necessitates being well-dressed; however, being well-dressed does not mean one is sharp. Sharp is flamboyant, slick almost and always involves some sort of compelling personality. Clothing is chosen with especial regard to cut and color in a way that aims to make people notice. Accessories may be used to further the look especially in terms of jewelry. Dean Martin was sharp while Bobby Darin wasn't.

Is it necessarily a good thing being a sharp dresser?
