That's fair. I'd be interested to know if the term is used by anyone else in the industry. It still seems far too uncommon to be a term that most tailors would be familiar with without needing some explanation. I might be wrong on that, though.

In any event, my collar is really soft. And it either rolls above or below the buttonhole. But when I release it, it makes its way back to the 3roll2.5 or, whatever we're calling it now :)

I don't want to press it flat. But I do want it to come down a bit. I just walked around in this sauna of a city for about 45 minutes in it with the sleeves open and the jacket billowing and SP's Fresco is so nice and breathable.

Creative 3-piece, yes or no? Waistcoat is navy with a check pattern.

It's hard to see the visual effect of the checked vest but I don't find it displeasing. I think it might be slightly better if it were, say, a solid navy cardigan because it seems like it might be clashing slightly with the shirt pattern. But in any case it still looks good.

Quick question, there was a challenge a few friday's ago in which I wore a cardigan with a suit. And I remember someone said that it was a bit incoherent since the suit is brushed wool and the cardigan didn't make sense or something like that. What's the rule in there?

    This was the pic:

Betel, I'm not sure what that person's critique means but I'm not sure it's incoherent so much as it just seems to fade into the color of the shirt. Since the suit is providing so much contrast I would suggest that the cardigan should have more contrast as well.

Yeah, 3 roll 2.5 is definitely a common term. Some would just say 2.5 (two and a half rather than two point five). There's probably an Italian term for it too. Louis Everhard of Everhard's in DC thought it the most elegant type of roll. Iirc, Despos really likes it too. My first custom suit was made that way in 98. Imo, S&M's coats are 2.5.

Edit: here's one place he mentions it:
    https://www.styleforum.net/threads/3-roll-2-5-with-peaked-lapels.259640/page-4#post-4737007

My favorite the past ten years or so is 3/2 though.

@Betelgeuse, did the person say it was incoherent because the suit was worsted? It might make sense if the person thought the suit was intended for warm weather and so it's incoherent to wear a cardigan with it. But I wouldn't worry too much about that.

Oh, I get it now. Yeah I see what that person is saying but I don’t think it’s a big deal. Cardigans can be pretty smooth too and even if they’re not I think it’s fine.
