Nick M and I speculated several weeks ago that Manton was the author of "The Dandy" published by the Claremont Institute. I posted a link to your article to reply to a question by Thracozaag (about Agnelli's successor's unbuttoned Brooks shirts). We concluded simply that he was not Agnelli and that we shouldn't try this at home. Â Your article was entertaining because of its historical perspective on style (e.g. Astaire's brown shoes as the rebellion of the fastidious). Why (or, more likely, who was) "Manton", if it's not your secret? I googled the name and came up empty.Check out the 2005 Tie Diary published by Workman. Â The Introduction was written by yours truly (under my "real" name, Nicholas Antongiavanni). http://www.amazon.com/exec....=507846
