So my cousin is an aspiring filmmaker and just finished shooting and directing a film that he is hoping to win release/distribution for. They haven't even edited yet but are hoping to get some pageviews and momentum via the trailer they made.

I have to say I'm pretty damned impressed with the production values and professionalism. It's amazing what you can do technically these days on a shoestring. I think this was shot entirely on a Nikon DSLR.

Anyways, go check it out if you have a minute.

It's weird watching it... it's definitely not studio production/acting, but it's still solid. The whole idea of directing seems easy, until you see bad amateur films (which this isn't)... you can't really pinpoint what is "wrong", it just isn't good. Anyway, this was well done, keep us updated on his work.

Very cool. Where does your cousin live, Douglas?

Our PE fund is incorporating a media silo. We're partnered with a fairly well known children's animation studio in LA, and might take on other related projects in the future that are not animation, via my cousin who runs a production company.

Amazing cinematography. Looks like it was shot on a 7D with some decent lenses.

@ douglas

im not one for horror, being scared shitless just isnt my thing but i will say this.

one of my eployees sons made a horror film localy, he gave us all copies and asked us to watch it. literaly i was not able to watch more than 20 min. at a time, took me a week to watch. horrible acting, terrible music, one song played in the backround for about 75 percent of the movie made me want to pull my hair out. no plot. and had the directing, cinematography and production quality of a third graders school project.

its nice to see that small budget films by up and comers dont have to be like that. this film looks very promising, looks like a studio offering. best of luck to your cousin.

Looks very good for an "amateur film." ****, I'd see it.

Looks good.
Would watch.
If I was younger I'd make it a date movie.
