I cannot help it! Don't those shoes just beg for the companionship of a sharkskin suit?

I might end-up in paris later in the year, and if so, I'm definitely stopping at Corthay for a pair of their shagreen shoes. Like you, I have absolutely no idea what I'd wear them with. Someone must have some ideas.

Jeans, sunglasses, and a sport coat with a paperback copy of Le peau de chagrin in the pocket.

Having seen one of your true photos that was posted some time ago, I simply cannot imagine you white-haired, pony-tailed, fanning a pudgy face clad in those sunglasses! I don't think your employer could imagine it either.

Sorry, didn't think to snap a pic with my cell phone. They're bals with a rather pointy chisel toe. The shagreen is arranged in such a way that the center of each shoe looks like it has a row of white buttons or perhaps some kind of medallion going down the front. Half price puts them in the neighborhood of $500.

You're right. Definitely the furthest thing from my look. I'm pretty sure I couldn't wear shagreen shoes to work to begin with.
