1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Don't think Dropbox shows the file until it is done syncing.

Should hopefully be able to watch the movie tomorrow evening :). In the middle of a budget meeting this week. When do we start discussing on here?

Just a question for you all... would you guys be opposed if mine was 3 parts of ~700mb each? I have been trying to find a smaller version but haven't been able to

That's fine by me but I don't have a 4kb/sec speed (Teger, did you check the ul/dl rate and bandwith use in 'preferences').

Right know, the shared folder capacity is 4GB

Better be worth it though !

I haven't seen le choix es armes, huge gaps in my film knowledge everywhere

James Gray seems to be better liked in France / Europe than in the US

sweet, i'm in. thanks for the invite sipang. it might have been posted earlier and i missed it, but is there a weekly schedule? i assume wouldn't be a super strict start and stop day for watching/discussing each movie but just so we keep to a 7 day rotation it would probably help to set a specific day of the week to change focus.

Not even on iPads? iPhone movies are nice if you're on the bus or subway

Just finished watching - it'll need some time to sink in but...
...man was that sad. I saw the ending coming, but that didn't make the final action scene any less tense. The lack of music is so much more exciting than any bombastic action film. I loved the over-the-shoulder camera, and the neat touches such as when the camera moved through the hole in the sheet or earlier when the camera moved above Joshua when he opened the letter - really ominous. I feel like seeing the ending coming was deliberate - Reuben's fate was as inevitable as his mother's.
(Not sure if this is the level of analysis/type of discussion that this group is looking for - just thought I'd share some of my immediate reactions.)

Had a long post coming but David Lynch pretty much covered it.

jwjp, thanks. I'll chime in in a bit.

For those of you using the desktop app, please be careful not to move or delete the file from the folder or it'll be deleted for everyone. Thx.

is that list up there the order in which we are presenting ?

just realized the movie i wanted to pick (is in arabe maghr├ębin) has hard-coded subtitles in french which is useless for most people ...well i have others to pick until i find a better copy.

we are gonna keep doing this till people flake and one by one the list shrinks, i assume. winner gets cashmere movie-watching sweatpants, i assume

We need a clear and rigid schedule and possibly satellite movie threads. Also some butter.

I'm going to edit the OP with an up to date list of participants and all the necessary info.

The list is ordered by joining date, pretty straightforward stuff (PM me if you don't plan on uploading thanks). You can pass your turn or give away your spot, etc.

Right now we're doing this on a weekly basis (I'm ok with more than one film/week but I guess people have a life) so dwyhajlo's pick should be up by let's say next Tuesday.

    yes. in pre-loved condition
