Why not? The stuff on this site is way more informative than anything i've read in esquire or GQ and many of the posters on the forum are excellent writers. Has anyone ever thought about this?

The willing-to-pay customer base would be tiny and not worth the cost. An e-zine, maybe, but again - hard to generate enough traffic to make the necessary ad revenue.

Hard to compete with flashier, mass-market publications like GQ, Esquire, Details, etc.

I'd pay a nominal amount to be a part of this forum. If you take it seriously and visit/contribute regularly it pays for itself many times over.

There would be no benefit to SF being a magazine.

Michael K. over at Fedora Lounge tried to start up Classic Style magazine a couple of years ago and had to shut down after a few issues due to lack of advertising support.

Classic style. I got a sub but only recieved 2 issues before that went under. I think the people came to the board because I cannot think of where else I might have heard about it. Or just read the above posting.
