I'm rather surprised there's not a post flood limit, at least on new users.

I suppose SF is just too gentlemanly for such measures... or for Black Magic.

I have read many posts by relatively new users regarding their posts being reviewed and not showing up. Meanwhile, how do these spammers manage to spam-flood with seemingly impunity?

Because our spam filter is clearly not perfect. And no, we do not have paid moderators, nor do our partners at the Huddler provide them. We also pay for and coordinate our own editorial content.

Here we go again - bumping this thread so the spam falls off the main page faster. Should we have threads automatically vanish if 15 members with 1000+ posts report them or something similar?

Ugh...

This is what I get for checking the main page for new threads :fu:

Can we revisit the idea of a minimum post count before you can make a thread?

It is time to give those of us in Asian time zones, super-powers to delete threads.

We promise not to abuse them.

i believe the mods have said, that they prefer us to report spam by flagging them, or if they get real bad, report in transmod. bumping threads without content is less preferable. so i am told anyways.

People have to be doing that themselves somehow. I just posted a new thread and only got one post...
