1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Was there a Halloween party last night for the mods? Seems like mods are having hang over and playing hookey. :smarmy:

Excellent idea. Should avoid some of the silly questions that are repeatedly asked.

Strongly agree. Annother forum I'm a member of has that rule and it is spam-free and largely troll-free. It is a lot of work for the mods though.

For fucks sake, how slack are the moderators not to clean up the shit threads appearing every three seconds.

Doesn't SF/Huddler, Inc have paid professional moderators? I always thought it did, along with the editorial staff. If any spam arrives outside of US office hours, it probably wouldn't get deleted until the morning.

I'm rather surprised there's not a post flood limit, at least on new users.

I suppose SF is just too gentlemanly for such measures... or for Black Magic.

I have read many posts by relatively new users regarding their posts being reviewed and not showing up. Meanwhile, how do these spammers manage to spam-flood with seemingly impunity?

Because our spam filter is clearly not perfect. And no, we do not have paid moderators, nor do our partners at the Huddler provide them. We also pay for and coordinate our own editorial content.

Here we go again - bumping this thread so the spam falls off the main page faster. Should we have threads automatically vanish if 15 members with 1000+ posts report them or something similar?

    Ugh...

This is what I get for checking the main page for new threads :fu:

Can we revisit the idea of a minimum post count before you can make a thread?
