I've known how to sew for quite some time and for years took up my own trouser hems.....loved adding the hem tape as a bespoke detail. I even got my daughter interested in sewing......now there's a gender bender.

But I realized that the technical sewing skill alone was not enough. A tailor's eye and knowledge of fit is fundamental and I don't have the time. I once tried to alter a pair of trousers and couldn't fathom the thinking that a tailor uses. So, I've been a happy camper going to Pedro at Cardelino's for everything.

I really want to learn how to sew. I think this thread had convinced me to make that one of my goals for this summer. I'd love to be able to slim up shirt.
