Sew in Shirt sleeve width

You all might have bought a shirt where there is too much fabric around your bicep and forearm, is there any method to sew in the shirt sleeve width around the biceps and forearm? And if so, how is this done?

I have never done it myself, but I know that sleeves can be slimmed a little. Nothing dramatic, but if you like a shirt enough to spend for it then you should be able to find a good tailor to do the work.

I have also heard of solutions of a dart running next to the actual seam. I somehow cannot imagine that this looks pleasing.

Just have it altered with your tailor, one less thing to worry about.

If I actually knew the process, I could do it myself.

Just take it in along the sleeve seam. Open the seam, cut it to taper in quicker from the arm-hole to bicep, the flat-fell it again. If you want to take it in right up to the body then this will make the sleeve-cap smaller, so you may need to also bring in the chest a small amount to make the arm-hole correspondingly smaller.
