Selvage inseam! What Size?

should i get 32 inseam in raw denim or size up to 34

like for nudie, 5ep or kmw..

lol why do you say that... im well aware that it shrinks 1 to 3 inches

but there seem to be others that think getting a 32 inch inseam is fine... are they wrong.. i dont ask questions that i havent searched thats a waste of everyones time

Stating your current inseam size could be considered critical information for this post. Also, it depends how much you like your denim to stack. Also, I haven't read about any of the brands you posted shrinking 3 inches. Those are Levi's STF numbers.

How other people's inseam length fits them has little to do with how they will fit you. I think what you are asking is that if you normally wear 32's and wonder if you should get 34's? (that is will 32's shrink to be 30's, or 34's shrink to be 32's)

I'm confused now too...

and its confusing, but from responses it seems like a 32 inseam is fine

Nudie: Standard raw denim sizing. Like all raw selvage, reverse the inseam and waist sizes, so if you are a size 28/34 in Levi's, you'll be a 36/28 in Nudie after you add the obligatory extra 2 inches to allow for the extreme shrinking that all sanforized denim goes through--sometimes 2 to 3 feet in the inseam!

5ep: Take the length of your left foot and multiply by pi^2. Done.

JaCet, raw denim means unwashed. Selvage is a term referring to the uncut edge of the fabric when it comes through the loom. Some jeans are raw and not selvage, and vice versa. I don't mean to patronize but it sounded like you were mixed up. If not, I apologize.

As far as sizing, search for sizing of those specific brands, becasue sizing is by no means consistent across all raw, selvage, or any kind of denim. Waist sizes vary quite a bit from brand to brand, however, this is not the case with inseams. If you are a 32 inch inseam, then you will be a 32 inseam in just about every other pant, much less jeans. Some people who buy selvage like the cuff their jeans to expose the selvage, in which case, you might want to get a longer inseam. Hope that helps.
