Selling on ebay

Hello, all -- I thought this deserved a new thread.  Like many on this board, I have often thought about buying great finds and reselling them on Ebay as a way to finance my clothing habit.  Having never done it, I would be interested to hear from those who have about strategies, tips and pitfalls.  Some questions I have would be:  How do you calculate pricing?  What are the best return policies?  How quickly do various types of items tend to sell?  What are some of the transaction costs involved, other than the time of maintaining and monitoring listings?  What is the best payment system?  What are some of your biggest successes and biggest mistakes? I realize that the answers to these things will depend on many factors, but I thought it would be fun to read some discussion of all this.
