it's insane, my taint

but, underwear or no underwear, the place where the seat of the bike meets the jeans will get worn, no?

Always, though IH denim is incredibly stubborn to fade, so the ass-fade (it really is your ass that fades) will take a long time. Lemme see if I've got a good example, though I think I've thrown away all my blown out jeans (except the pair Gordon is fixing up).

Yeah, these definitely aren't intended for distance cycling... more like for people that use a bike to get around, go to work, hang out with friends, go to bars, etc...
Or those that go joy riding around the city on any two wheeled vehicle...

I'm a city rider. My commute is an hour on the bike each way. I would carry the U-lock in a bag or backpack - I can't imagine a circumstance where it would be comfortable in my back pocket (wherever positioned) as I pedalled.

The fact that they are only suitable for short rides destroys the point of them, IMO. Especially at that price. If I'm only riding 10 minutes or so, any old thing will do.

I couldn't see myself riding my bike around Fort Lauderdale in these. The fades would be masked by the dry crusted salt that would form over the entire pant from being soaked with sweat.

However, they do look pretty awesome.

how's the fit on these, compared to either NS or the SFx5EP?

God willing these will be my next pair of jeans if they are still in stock after x-mas.

When I saw the thread title I was thinking 50% lycra / 50% cotton selvage.
