I am thinking about buying a second overcoat for the winter. Right now I have a grey double breasted wool one with large very straight peak lapels and flap pockets. It has a very fitted waist and strong shoulders. It is a 6x2 and falls just above the knee. For my next overcoat I am thinking about getting a single breasted one in camel with 3 buttons and peak lapels as well. It would be a similar length. I will probably get one in a more relaxed fit with softer shoulders. I was also thinking about a getting some kind of chesterfield, but I am undecided on what I want. I would like something more casual then my first coat.

If you already have a dark, formal coat, why not get a light and/or informal coat?

How is your new bespoke overcoat coming along?

Looking like a Harrison navy herringbone worsted wool (this tailor has nothing good to say about cashmere), DB, 6x2, flapped hip pockets, breast welt pocket, four working sleeve buttons, otherwise no frills.

After that a polo coat, probably in wool or a wool camel blend (he doesn't like pure camel either).

This seems like a very good idea -- I bet you will get more use out of these items than many other custom-tailored ones.

Seems like a pretty good idea. Velvet collar?

This sounds nice, something I'd like.

I would go for a navy with notch lapels, SB.

I like the idea of a softer shoulder. Have you considered a belted model? The cinching effect can be slimming and yet look relaxed.

That one is too big, I wear a 36. I think I am going to go with my idea of something in camel, but I will probably get it double breasted as well.
