Searching for Suede or Nubuck Belt

I've been searching unsuccessfully for quite a while now for a suede or nubuck belt to go with a pair of suede Sutor Mantellassi shoes. The problem has been getting a color that would look good with the shoes. The latter are a light golden-rust shade, and, although I don't want necessarily to match this exactly, neither my A-E Keene belt (a different shade altogether or tan cashmere suede belt (too dark) look good with the shoes. Lance doesn't have any Sutor Mantellassii belts that would work. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there another source of Sutor Mantellassi belts that could be accessed online? Does anyone know of another belt that might be a reasonable match for these shoes?

Good point. But we would probably want to make the sure the belt was suede, wouldn't we? In other words, it would seem necessary to match the texture, if not the color. Or is that right? Would suede shoes look good paired with a smooth leather belt? If we stuck with a suede belt, but varied the color some from the shoes, would you think it better to have the suede belt in a lighter or darker shade than the shoes?

I have a similar issue with a pair of Certos from Lance. I've got a gorgeous suede belt that's a little lighter and it makes things look a little off. But I have a slightly darker smooth leather belt that works very well, despite the texture mix. I vote for darker; people eyes will then be drawn to the lighter--and very fine--shoes.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
