I've never owned a pair of suede shoes and have little experience with suede in general. I'm thinking of purchasing a pair of suede loafers, but they look like this:

Note the scuff/discoloration on the toe. Here's a closer view:

Is a scuff like this irreparable? Can it be made to look better at all? If so, how? Any advice is greatly appreciated; I'm just trying to determine if this pair is worth it.

    Thanks!

It depends on what the scuff is from. If it is just from a slight bit of gunk, it will brush out. If it is something like glue or something oil based, you are pretty much stuck with it. imo, suede looks better "dirty" anyway, but if you want ot keep them pristine, you are better off not taking your chance with this pair.

You can buy suede brushes and other stuff that can get stains and grime out of suede. This article breaks down how to clean suede jackets, it might work for shoes also.
