Scottish cashmere, slim cut?

I am looking for a made in Scotland, cashmere v-neck sweater in a slim cut (higher arm holes, narrow body). Does anyone make these?

I looked around online and at Cable Car Clothiers. CCC found two sweaters in my size, 38, by John Laing and Johnstons of Elgin. Sadly, while the shoulders were fine, they both fit like bags in the body. Online Johnstons seems to start at size 40.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

I suppose Begg makes the best cashmere in Scotland

Begg makes fantastic cashmere goods, but they don't make sweaters.

If a nice Scottish cashmere sweater doesn't look somewhat baggy, something is wrong with it.

+1 to both statements. Do a search - HK, Paine, Ballantyne, etc.

My apologies for that.

Yet, sooner or later, we will see "slim-fit cable-knit" and "fitted Fair Isle" as topics.

Maybe this is just my taste, but I find a baggy sweater looks awful on a skinny and younger guy.

Thanks yarnsforth for the BB pointer. That looks like it might fit me well.

I'm with you (though I'm no longer young). I can't stand baggy sweaters. Besides, fitted sweaters keep me warmer. So what I do is have all of my sweaters taken in and tapered by my tailor. Maybe that's another option you want to consider?

Take a look at Pringle. Otherwise John Smedley make a decent cashmere, and fairly slim, though it's made in England (Doncaster) as opposed to Scotland.

It is a particular look that has historical and contemporary roots. Knitters may be a more viable option than tailors if you're looking to slim down a sweater.
