Bought these from the VCH a couple of months ago and originally thought they would be to small (Size 44 but fit more like a 10.5). Some professional stretching and a lot of patience made them work. Was it worth it? Does anybody know much about the quality? How much potential on the dress scale?
I thank you all in advance.

Thanks Tarmac, I respect you're opinion. BTW, I paid less than $150.

While wer'e on the subject may I pose another question? I'm in the market for a pair of black dress shoes, preferably medallion cap toe. I like the added style of a monk strap but the more traditional oxford seems like the easiest option (see attached pics). Why does the medallion cap diminish the dress factor so much? Please excuse as I started a new thread yesterday, got several responses...all of which were helpful. Nevertheless, I'd appreciate you're feedback.

No idea re quality, but I like them. I don't entirely agree with Tarmac. I'd wear them with a suit, but you just need to be conscious of the fact that you're going with something that clearly looks "vintage" and a bit unusual. So suit yes, but job interview no, in my opinion.

I think the Sciapo's are great for a casual, cool wingtip. I would wear them with jeans and cords or a casual suit like corduroy. The look and finish of them seems to suit a more casual outfit and not a serious business suit. I think you made a good buy.

Funny name for a shoe. It literally means "bland" in italian. As in when food is lacking salt, you would say it is sciapo.

The other thread is pretty definitive as to the opinions regarding this topic.
