You gotta be in the Southern hemisphere because that is in no way a warm weather fragrance.

This week I've found it's either so hot, or I'm still so sweaty after showering or something but there's been no longevity to my fragrances. Today is Dandelion & Fig and it is almost gone.
The TF? Nah I’m in England.
But I agree it’s not the right smell for this mad heat.

It's the only downside to summer..,
If I have to choose, I prefer my scents that project and have some stank on them. I just can't wear them when it's 89, which is the current weather phase here.

I went Mandarino Di Amalfi today...

Even though it looked like this today, it's still a warm one.

I don't know where to otherwise put it, so I pick this thread here.

Years ago I attended a workshop on perfume (as a gift, I would not have figured this myself). The lady explained about her journey on perfumes and she had been to Paris. There she met one of the best "noses" of one of these houses. He explained that perfume should not be worn on the skin.

The reason is, that clothing doesn't have the acid and oily composition like the skin does. And they simply can not guarantee the quality of the fragrance for each skin. Besides that, the ingredients in fragrances might affect the skin too much over time.

The suggestion is to put the perfume on the places that get warm enough: neck (collar), shoulders, armpits and sometimes even the belly. On the cuffs around the wrist is also possible, but not always advisable. It depends on the fragrance etc.

What are your takes on this suggestion? I do apply it like that and I never have problems of the perfume fading away too quickly or mixed odor from detergents etc. But I'd like to know from people who wear perfumes a lot or have even more inside information about there take on this.

I looked online and this sells pretty cheaply at the discount websites. I am usually pretty skeptical of cheapies, but I will give it a shot.

When it came out it was the most expensive fragrance of all time. Up until it was discontinued recently it was known to still be of high quality.

Jean Patou Joy EDP is not that expensive indeed. But I'd rather find a sample first. It seems to be a classic.

I would call all the scents you mention here "fresh". Certainly not dirty or even spicy. Those are all citrusy scents in the cologne/eau category. All of them good though.

If you want a citrus with a spicier edge I would suggest Antonio Alessandria Fara.

Sounds like you may want to check out some Vetivers... I'd recommend Guerlain and Dior if you can find it
