Excellent. I haven't tried the newer version. Not to influence your take on it but I always appreciate a learned review such as from Varanis Ridari/The Scented Devil.

Is your bottle like this?

I've been collecting these gems which were given out on Pan Am First Class long-haul flights back in the 70's.

Those first class amenity kits from back in the day almost make me pine for those days of long, slow, loud, and uncomfortable flights.

I hear you. Those first class upstairs lounges on the Pan Am 747s were the bomb. Tables and chairs sans seatbelts, people actually dressed up.
Yeah and I've taken some Korean Air flights where they have an open gathering which is nice enough.

Some impressions about Hermes Equipage (early 80s):

The first thing to note is that this one has a fantastic atomizer. It comes out in a really diffused spray like the old powder-room puffers, not a splat like some modern bottles. Reminds me of Creed in that way.

The scent is pretty similar at the opening with a burst of carnation and aldehydes, and I find piney notes more prominent. The spicy florals are a bit toned-down on me, which they aren't in the newer version, but both balance it well with rosewood, vetiver, and patchouli. I find the vetiver more prominent in this one. As an eau de toilette, it doesn't project very much after a few hours, becoming a discreet but lasting fragrance, drying down to a mossy leather.

Personally, I like both this one and the new formula a lot, but I find that the newer one is just a bit more 'apparent' to the nose. The 1980s version is one that smells devilishly good to you... and the ones who are lucky enough to get up close.

I gotta try this. I have only smelled the modern geranium version.

Big bottle is out for delivery today.
Very excited to have this one.
It's like Tuscan Leather ( which I own and love ) with a dollop of raspberry.

In the old one there is a distinctive lily-of-the-valley-note that I really like. Unusual for a masculine.

Has anyone else tried the new Replica Autumn Vibes? I'm really liking it, and considering a full size purchase.

It's another kind of Santal 33-type fragrance - with an emphasis on cedarwood, cardamom, and fir - but without that awful dill note that's present in some others.

Depends on who you ask. George on Fragrance Apprentice YouTube hates them all except the new Elixir, which is apparently very unrelated to the others. I'd tend to go with him being that I don't like the older parfum. I'd say go to Sephora and spray them and see for yourself.

I bought some vintage Chanel No 5 EDC and wore it yesterday. It’s got a nice civet note that doesn’t really show up in the current formulation. Good for fall weather.
