HEY TIME TO FESS UP. WHICH ONE OF YOU RECOMMENDED SEL MARIN?

(Because this is very very nice. It's a very calm aquatic scent. Like, sometimes the aquatic scents remind me of big beaches or really deep water but this is more like a quiet little beach tucked away with a gentle wave break. I don't know if that makes sense but I really like this.)

Glad you like it Ed.
My only problem with Sel Marin is I am rather anosmic to it (not sure this makes sense in english). Do expect compliments though.

Rasasi has some good stuff. If you're into more middle eastern style scents an underrated gem, imo, is Oud Malaki by Chopard. It was constructed by the legendary Dominique Ropion. It can be had for a touch under $100.
Oud Malaki is a perfectly blended, refined and delicious oriental fragance. I really liked so thanks for the great recomendation. From Rasasi I have received more juices: Zebra (nice summer fragance but it does not long much on me), Dareej (meh) and a lovely refreshing summer fragance call Al Wisham Day. I invite you to sample Leopard from this perfumer too. It is not expensive and smells like a furious leopard living in an Alice in Wonderland world. Pure animal passion and sweetness.

Nishane Ege.

I can see this being a green fresh spicy scent. I get some crushed floral leaves type of aroma, a lot of oceanic scents which I guess is ozonic? Seems perfect for spring. When it is grey and rainy I like these types of scents. I'm also kinda depressed IRL (sorry to go there, guys) and I guess this overall is making me think of better days to come.

Lots of synthetic woody amber bases in the line. Two I can recommend are unfortunately discontinued - Colonia Assoluta and Cedro di Taormina.

I actually like Colonia - their classic fragrance. It's a little more citrusy and fresh than my usual choices, but it has a nice base that makes it more lasting without being overwhelming. The deodorant is also nice.

Dior Homme

The original one--not the crappy 2020 one.

I haven't smelled the original, but the prices online are LOL! After smelling many vintages of more modern fragrances I'm inclined to think the differences are overblown.

Well, the issue with this one is more than just vintage versus modern versions: in 2020, Dior created an entirely new fragrance and gave it the name Dior Homme, which was a name already taken by another fragrance of theirs. The new Dior Homme bears basically no resemblance to the original Dior Homme other than the name.

The original Dior Homme, which is the one I'm wearing, is now known as Dior Homme Original and only available overseas (perhaps only available in Paris). The old Dior Homme was very well loved by a lot of people and the new one is so so different and not nearly as interesting. I think the highly limited distribution is what's causing the prices to be insane, similar to Dior Homme Parfum, which is also only available overseas.

Honestly, I think the house is a bit underwhelming. I think you can find better at those prices. And if you DO go with AdP, I would not pay retail as they can be found very easily through discounters online.

For instance, retail for Colonia is $175, but it can be found easily online for less than $83.
