Anyone know what the prices of Comme Des Garcons fragrances are like in Japan (in yen) compared to other places? I know a lot of people really like to mark up this brand outside of Japan and was wondering if I should just get it now or wait till I go to Japan next year.

Prior to my shower, I was that proverbial "man of Fracas."

The prices are pretty comparable. I bought a bottle of Harissa at the Tokyo CdG flagship store and it was a little over 1200 yen.

    Today: CdG 2 Man.

    Top 10er for me

Today, au bureau, it was Guerlain Vetiver Eau Glacée
And tonight, date night!, Divine L'homme Sage!

The Guerlain was my first vetiver, dumb luck or otherwise, and I still haven't found one that quite measures up.

As for the DLS, I was bored by it the first time, and have worn it several times since, each time upping my grade for the fragrance. Now I am looking for a bottle. 'nuf said.

    Great weekend, guys!

Today, YSL Jazz. Tonight I am going to see a play called Shadowlands, so I’m dressing top to toe in dark clothing and wearing Noir de Noir.

Never tried Iris 39. Or pretty much any from Le Labo (other than, I think, Santal 31--or was it Labdanum 18?--and was quite disappointed). How does Iris 39 smell? A relatively light floral fragrance (à la Fréderic Malle's En Passant etc.)? Or a more heavy creation?

I'm not ashamed to announce that I'm wearing Eau Sauvage (EdT) today.

It's rooty iris, and not floral at all to me.

Today: up and hungover to meet a friend over breakfast - YSL Rive Gauche

I 39 is more of a cold weather, woody rooty iris, with some other good things mixed in. Projection is very good, and its lasts and lasts. So I have to be careful when I apply, and always apply lightly. Got just a bit on my jacket (actually, it just rubbed off my arm) and my jacket smelled like I 39 for a couple weeks!

I'm an iris fan, I try them all, and to me I39 is right with the top of the class.

Speaking of iris, today I'm wearing a traditional summer cologne that has a very nice iris note in the mix--together with geranium, neroli, mint and sandalwood. Nicolai's L'eau Chic. My first try with this scent, and am loving it.

I've tried making Top 10 Scent lists. Always fail, can never get it down to 10. But ES has been on every list.

Today: Sunday and foggy - Rien. It's funny, this fragrance should not smell good and it certainly isn't "pretty", much in the same way Jules or Derby is not pretty. But they all nail a certain mood.

Wore a sample of Eccentric Molecules 01 yesterday that I stumbled across at resale shop. Without having read the reviews before applying, it behaved exactly like the reviews which I've now read....half emperors new clothes and half mushroom trip. Sniffing my arm all afternoon to no avail and then later in the night and on through today I'd get a strong whiff of it in some part of the house that I wouldn't expect and then it was gone again. Super strange stuff. Layered over today with some EM 03 which I sampled from LS as a possible replacement for my CdG vetiveru. I love that acetate but I think for the price cdg delivers enough.

I bought an entire spray bottle blind last year and regret it...I like old school scents but that one's just not for me.
