1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Speaking of ouds, last night I tried Roja Dove's Amber Aoud. The opening was so intensely chemical-y, smelled of cleaning solvent, it brought on a fierce headache and I had to scrub after only about 30 minutes. Too bad, as I am sure it would have evolved and perhaps I would have liked its later phases. Couldn't get that far, unfortunately.

I have enough in this decant for at least 3 more wearings, but it may be a good long while before I screw up the courage to induce another headache in the name of 'trying something new.' I probably won't have the urge to bang my head with a hammer any time soon, either.

Today's scent is Entre Naranjos, a nice orange blossom orange citrus combo, for a warm Memorial Day weekend. Much more enjoyable!

I have a little sample of Roja's Amber, though now I'm not sure if there's one called Amber and one called Amber Oud?

Yup, there is an Ambra Aoud. Give it a shot. I am going to try it again, my bellyaching notwithstanding.

For me today, Memorial Day sunny, 85F, breezy, dry, am wearing Slumberhouse Pear & Olive, a delightful summer scent, which seems to gain complexity when you sweat into it (as I do, once the temps go above 80).

    cheers guys.

Yay, I get sent three FM samples (the shop I bought FM samples/decants at didn't offer them anymore, so I inquired about whether I could buy a sample of PoaL and they answered that FM asked the shop not to sell samples of their fragrances anymore, so they offered to send me three factory samples of FM :)). I'll get PoaL, Musc Ravageur and L'Eau d'Hiver (I haven't sampled L'Eau d'Hiver thus far).

SotE for a The Notwist concert: Odeur 71.

Working through a Lutens sampler, and am wearing Cuir Mauresque, today. Would you know what I meant if I said that it is a maybe somewhat...literal? Not making me dream of grander things, even though it smells nice.

It's been warm here and I was up in St. Helena over the weekend, so I needed something fresh.
