1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I so regret not getting a bottle of the extrait while in Tokyo. I'd also LOVE to smell the vintage version.

SOTD: Kai Eau de Parfum. This is a wonderful white floral, with the emphasis on gardenia.

Profumum Eccelso--magnolia, bergamot & nutmeg on sandalwood. A tad too powdery, but nevertheless enjoying it!

SOTD: Creed Royal Oud. I've sampled this three times now and have never gotten it. My wife told me I smelled like a cheap hotel shampoo. It seems overloaded with Angelica. I had to scrub it this afternoon.

SOTE: Chanel No.5, borrowed from my wife. I would wear this in public if it wasn't so iconic and easily identifiable.

I think you should go ahead and wear the Chanel No. 5 in public anyway. I really think people overestimate others' ability to recognize scents--even famous ones--and to identify the gender to which they're marketed. I've told this story many times, but one day I wore Chanel No. 22 and someone complimented my on my cologne, which was "very gentlemanly."

You're probably right. It's weird, but I have no problem wearing Mitsouko, which is my go-to scent, or even Shalimar, but No. 5 does strike me as too feminine
