Yep L'Inc, I like it. It was even better yesterday with just the slightest lingering Ambre Sultan though.

Yeah, I can imagine that smelling nice.

Maquis, I hate the recent EdT version. It stands no chance to the vintage parfum.

I've worn the current EdT as well as the vintage EdT, and I've also found the new version sadly lacking in presence (I think the vintage edt is very good, however). I agree that the vintage parfum is just ridiculously great; I wonder what the current parfum is like? (Neiman Marcus sells it for $327, so if it comes anywhere close to the vintage, it could be worth the savings...)

You should check the Daily Chance Specials more often. You can sometimes snatch high-end samples from XerJoff or such for "relatively moderate" prices.

Have you tried Incense Oud by Bond no. 9? Or Dark Rose by Czech & Speake? Or Midnight Oud by Juliette Has a Gun? I don't really remember Black Aoud anymore other than not really liking it, but checking fragrantica/BN the most prominent note seems to be rose, so I'd give these a try (in case you haven't already). Maybe Lyric Man by Amouage.
Nonetheless, given that you're so fond of it, I might give it another try.

Colonia Intensa > Colonia Assoluta

Assoluta's a bit dry, and just as fleeting on me as the regular Colonia. Intensa's the only one that's able to make it more than a few hours.

SOTN: Amber Oud by Kilian. A bit ambivalent on this one. It's a tad too sweet to my taste.

Never mind, I mixed it up with Aoud Leather. The recommendations still hold though for an oud-y scent with a focus on rose.

L'Inc, what do you think of this?

I'm not a big fan, to be honest. The top is tart and fruity, which to my nose is something appropriate for a young woman. (I was about to say a teenage girl, but that's not fair. It's more grown-up than that. But it is a young scent.) As the top notes dissipate, it becomes a pretty floral, with white florals playing the lead role, supported by a sweet vanilla base. If pretty fruity floral is what you're looking for, then I think this would be a good option. But that's not a genre that's especially compelling to me.
